Standard 2: Learner Differences- “The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that allow each learner to reach.”
This is my Equity Statement. The equity statement was written to describe an inclusive classroom environment for my future teaching. In this, I talk about the differences between equality and equity, why equity is important in the classroom and what my classroom will look like with an equity rich environment.
This artifact demonstrates Standard 2: Learner Differences because I plan for a future classroom that focuses on the individuals within my classroom and value their differences whether it be lifestyle, language, culture, race, family structure, adoption, disabilities and gender. I also focus on reaching all of my students and learning about their differences. Within this artifact I also link articles that I focused on while writing this that dig deeper into an equity rich environment.
